Used Cooking Oil – Also known as UCO. It is the oil produced from the recycling of waste or spent grease from restaurants and commercial food processing facilities. It collected and processed to remove the solids and moisture. It is sold on the specification of maximum 15% free fatty acids (FFA), and a maximum 2% of moisture (M), insoluble impurities (I) and unsaponifiable matter (U) combined. These specifications can be negotiated on a contract to contract basis by buyer and seller.
“It’s all about the market. Paul and his team at Third Coast Commodities keep us up to date on the trends and advise us of the most profitable path for our material. The market has been difficult for the last few years and we look to Paul as our team member, doing what is necessary to keep our company viable in the yellow grease business.”
“In the many years we have worked with Third Coast Commodities, they have always had a get it done attitude. They understand our industry and what is important to our company.”
